
AMS
has been actively involved in the sale and operation of airships for various applications
beyond promotion and advertisement. This work has been varied in nature, from government
contract work for the Department of Defense to research applications for private
institutions. These applications include:
- Use by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute for marine mammal
research.
- Sale of Skyship 600 to the UK Ministry of Defence in June,
1993.
- Training of UK MoD pilots and mechanics by AMS personnel in
USA and UK.
- Sale of Skyship 600 to Tokyo Metropolitan Police in 1989.
- Use by DoD/Defense Evaluation Support Activity (DESA) for
evaluation of "counter drug role."
- Use by Secret Service during World Cup Soccer 1994.
- Use by Atlanta Police Department during Atlanta Olympics 1996.
